Suggested Activities in the Village (walking distance)

Cardigan has a number of interesting things to do and most necessary services. Starting at the visitors centre, located in the Heritage and Shipbuilding Museum, you can find local information and services. Enjoy the very interesting shipbuilding history of Cardigan, the Genealogy Room and outside deck, all overlooking Cardigan Marina.

Canada's smallest library is located across the street (with approximately 2000 books), become a member. Visit the farmer's market located in the old Cardigan railway station.

The Island wide Confederation walking / biking trail is only minutes away and we offer you free bicycles to enjoy the trail. We also offer tennis racquets for the nearby tennis courts, and there is beach walking and fishing. Always leave time to just relax on your deck or the beach and enjoy the Island lifestyle. Enjoy a traditional Lobster Supper with children’s menu.

• Montague (10 min) Service Centre, mall, Museum
• Brudenell Riding Stables (5 min) horseback riding
• Greenwich PEI National Park, about 1/2 hour drive from Cardigan. Interpretive Center, trails, beaches, longest boardwalk on PEI.
• Morrison's Beach 5 minute drive
• Panmure Island Beach, Salley's Beach 1/2 hour drive
• Scenic Drives abound on Eastern PEI
• Garden of the Gulf Museum in Montague
• Lighthouses at Wood Islands, Panmure Island and Point Prim are all open for visiors
